How to care for your Ruhe

OUR FABRICS CARE GUIDE

At Ruhe, we believe in creating pieces with quality fabrics that are made to last. To help your pieces last even longer, please read our care guide. This way, you can enjoy your pieces for years to come.

LINEN

If you can, it’s always best to wash your linen in cold water. This preserves the fabric and helps prevent colour fade.

If washing in a washing machine, wash at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle.

Use a gentle and eco-friendly detergent (we love The Lab Co.)

Air dry. This isn’t just better for the garment, it’s also more environmentally friendly.

No need to always wash, try steaming instead. If your item needs a little refresh, steaming won’t just clean the garment, it’ll also get rid of any wrinkles.

Steam, don’t iron. We love the natural properties of linen and its small environmental impact, but we know how easily it wrinkles. So try steaming, which is less harsh on the fabric than ironing. If you do iron your garment, make sure it’s a little damp first, which will help remove the creases and preserve the fabric.

Never tumble dry or use bleach – both are bad for your garment and the environment.

ORGANIC COTTON

Machine wash on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees.

Avoid mixing colours to keep your whites white.

Wash brighter colours on a cold wash to help preserve the colour.

Wash with an eco-friendly mild detergent (we love The Lab Co.)

Steam. When your item needs a little refresh, instead of putting it in the washing machine, give it a steam.

Air dry. It’s better for the garment and the environment too.

Never tumble dry or use bleach – both are bad for your garment and the environment.
